Crossover Labs wants everyone to be able to use knock knock hello, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, voice control, screen magnification or captions.

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the W3C.

Where we are today

knock knock hello partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That means most of it meets the standard and some parts don't yet. The gaps we know about:

What we do about it

Tell us about a problem

Technical details

knock knock hello uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript and is built to work with current versions of the major browsers and screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack).

Information for customers in the European Union

This section gives the information the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882, Annex V) asks service providers to publish.

The service

knock knock hello lets anyone type in a website address and chat with that website about what is on its pages. Website owners can pay to feature their site on a public board ranked by bid.

How it works

Enter a website address and ask your questions in the chat. To feature a site, enter its address and a bid in whole dollars, then pay on Stripe's checkout page. The listing appears on the board once the payment goes through.

How it meets the accessibility requirements

We design and test knock knock hello against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the web content requirements used by the European standard EN 301 549. Our status is partially conformant, with the gaps listed above. We check that images have text alternatives, pages work with a keyboard, text stays readable when zoomed to 200 percent, colors have enough contrast, and forms have labels and clear error messages.
